“I felt like a newcomer on ‘Risk’ sets,” said Vinod Khanna at the Press Conference of his comeback film ‘Risk’ at Some Place Else (Fun Republic) yesterday. Director of ‘Risk’ Vishram Sawant along with the star cast comprising of Randeep Hooda, Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Anant Jog, Zakir Hussain and music director D J Akbar Sami. It was a well attended event where media personnel showed a huge interest in ‘Risk’, an unusual cop story where Vinod Khanna plays a don.

Khanna praised Sawant on having made ‘D’ (it was highly recommended by Khanna’s fifteen year old son). And he also added that after finishing ‘Risk’ he is fully confident that his faith in his director was well placed. Vinod Khanna had never worked with any of the actors or crew of ‘Risk’ before so it was a totally different experience working with them. “While dubbing I realized that all the actors have done a brilliant job. I hope people love it as much as I did,” he said.

Shy director Vishram Sawant was all praise for his entire star-cast. “I look at police very positively. This is what you shall be seeing in this film. It’s an entertaining film which shall give the audience a real feel,” he said. Interestingly his next film will be a comedy.

Randeep Hooda was in a chirpy mood and thanked Vinod Khanna besides praising the other cast members. “We’ve made an entertaining film. We’ve not gone preachy. We’ve made a film that entertains everybody,” he said. Character actor Anant Jog in his brief address stated, “After this film, Vishram ji Vishram nahin kar payenge.”

Debutante music director DJ Akbar Sami was excited about three songs that he has composed for the film. Obviously he is excited about ‘Hitchki’ that is climbing the charts steadily. Talented actor Yashpal Sharma who is playing the role of Vinod Khanna’s younger brother recounted the scene from ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ where Khanna takes off his police vardi to fight Bachchan in his own den. “I can never forget that scene. I was very excited about playing the role of such a great man’s younger brother.”

Bandit Queen Seema Biswas is playing Vinod Khanna’s younger sister with grey shades. She handles Khanna’s crime syndicate in Mumbai. She was of the opinion that it’s been a long time after which she has got a role that she can be really proud of.

The funny aside of the well organized evening happened when an upstart television reporter asked Vinod Khanna his views on Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai engagement. “What does it have to do with ‘Risk’,” he asked. Right….
